Huntsville Man Arrested at Storage Facility Print E-mail
On Sunday, May 9th, 2010, at approximately 11:00 p.m., an HPD Officer noticed a vehicle parked outside of a storage unit at 11607 South Memorial Parkway.  The officer pulled in to check the vehicle and found the driver to be in possession of a large knife and a small amount of marijuana.  The officers could also smell an odor of marijuana coming from the storage unit.  The Madison-Morgan County Strategic Counterdrug Team (STAC) was notified and responded to the scene. 

A subsequent investigation and search warrant execution of the storage unit led to the seizure of 7.2 pounds of hydroponic marijuana valued at $4000 per pound, 1.2 pounds of Psilocybin Mushrooms valued at $4000 per pound, one handgun, two shotguns, and $2370.00 in cash.  Jesse Austin Smith, 22, of Huntsville was arrested and charged with Trafficking Marijuana, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit.
