(WAFF TV)- A man is taken to jail and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine after agents find drug components inside his vehicle. It happened at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Hampton Cove. It was a lengthy search by drug agents, who dug through the suspect's van looking for evidence of meth. They finally found what they were looking for hidden under the hood. New Hope Police, Madison County Sheriff''s Department and undercover STAC agents were called to the parking lot of Hampton Cove Wal-Mart on a tip of a possible meth lab. Authorities discovered one of the suspects was inside Wal-Mart allegedly trying to buy ingredients to make meth. Agents searched the suspect's blue van, and found lithium batteries and chemicals hidden near the hood. New Hope Police Chief Richard Foster said this is the 18th meth bust he's made in the month since he took the job. "We are really working a lot of hours, lot of people are calling in, we are listening to them and we are taking action." said New Hope Police Chief Richard Foster. "Anything down south of Madison County we are going to clean it up. We will lock them up or run them out of the county," said Foster. The name of the person arrested has not been released. He's being held on a 100,000 dollars bond. A second person was not charged with meth but arrested on prior domestic violence warrants.
