Agents arrest one man - seize cash and guns Print E-mail

STAC Team agents concluded a six month long investigation of a east Limestone County man charging him with trafficking in cocaine.

Alphonso Brontay Benford, 32, was arrested at his home on Oak Crest Drive by STAC agents working with the Limestone Sheriff''s Office narcotic unit and the ATF. A search of Benford''s home was conducted. There, agents found approximately $294,000 in cash. Also seized were six vehicles and eight handguns.

Copies of Benford’s CD, titled “Dope Boy Fresh,” also were confiscated. The same Louis Vuitton bag, full of cash, which was pictured on the front of Benford’s CD, was seized during the bust, said Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely.

Benford was brought back to the Madison County Jail and is being held with a bond totaling 4.5 million dollars. Benford is charged with three counts of trafficking in cocaine that occurred in the Huntsville area.

The handguns will be turned over to ATF for follow-up investigation.
