Woman injured by alleged meth lab; 4 others arrested Print E-mail

(WAFF) - A woman was injured Tuesday morning and four other people were taken into custody after an alleged meth lab blew up in New Hope.

According to Madison County sheriff''s investigators on the scene of the incident, Niki Hornbuckle was burned by acid after pulling a hose from the homemade lab.

Hornbuckle then ran to a neighbor''s house to call 911.

Sgt. Dick with News Hope Police Department got the call around 9 Tuesday morning.

Case highlights - Morgan and Limestone County Print E-mail
During the month of June, Agents with the Madison-Morgan STAC Team have worked closely with other Agencies in North Alabama to take two dangerous drug dealers off of the streets.
On June 4th, 2009, STAC Team Agents worked closely with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Department on an investigation which led to the execution of a search warrant at 716 West Moreland Street in Athens.  Twenty nine year old Marvin Douglas Shoulders was arrested for Trafficking Cocaine and booked into the Limestone County Jail.  More than $2000.00 dollars was seized.

On June 9th, 2009, a long term investigation by the Madison-Morgan STAC Team, Decatur Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation was concluded with the arrest of 52 year old George William Wheeler of Decatur for Trafficking Cocaine.  He was arrested during an attempt to purchase numerous kilos of cocaine and booked into the Morgan County Jail.  Approximately $14,000 dollars was seized.

NW Huntsville man arrested - charged with trafficking cocaine Print E-mail
On June 3, 2009, Agents with the Madison-Morgan Counterdrug Team (STAC Team) concluded an investigation with the service of a search warrant at 6106 Geronimo Circle in Huntsville.  As a result of the search warrant, more than 3 ounces of crack cocaine and more than 3 ounces of powder cocaine were seized.  Drug Agents also seized 3 semi automatic handguns and $5,924.00 in cash.  Twenty-six year old James “Spud” Turner Jr. of Huntsville was arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana 2nd.  He may face additional Federal charges as well.
